1. Introduction
DoDraft (“DoDraft”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is operated by DodLab. We design and distribute thoughtful macOS and iOS applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you when you use our websites (including dodraft.com) and any app we publish under the DoDraft brand (collectively, the “Services”), how we use that information, and the choices you have.
By using our Services you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information — e.g. your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, create an account, or activate a license.
- Purchase information — when you buy a license or subscription, payment is handled by third-party processors (such as Apple, Stripe, Paddle, or Gumroad). We receive a transaction reference and billing metadata, but we do not store your full payment card data.
- Support communications — when you contact us by email, we keep a record of the correspondence to help resolve your request.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, referrer, approximate session duration, and similar analytics.
- Device and log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, language, timestamps, and error logs necessary to operate and secure the Services.
- Hardware identifier (HWID) — for desktop apps that require license validation, we may generate a hashed identifier from your device to prevent unauthorized reuse of licenses. This identifier cannot be used to directly identify you.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used on our website for essential functionality (such as authentication), preferences (such as theme), and optional analytics.
Information we do NOT collect
Our apps are designed with privacy in mind. Unless explicitly stated in an app's own notice, we do not read the content of your documents, emails, files, or any other personal data processed locally on your device. Where an app needs to process content, that processing happens on-device whenever possible.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
- Validate licenses and prevent fraudulent use or piracy of our software.
- Process payments, renewals, and refunds through our payment providers.
- Respond to inquiries, provide customer support, and send service-related announcements.
- Send newsletters or product updates when you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Understand how our Services are used so we can improve them, diagnose issues, and design new features.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data under the following legal bases: performance of a contract (e.g. delivering a paid app), compliance with a legal obligation, your consent (e.g. marketing emails), and our legitimate interests in running and improving the Services in a secure way.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share information in the limited situations described below:
- Service providers — hosting, analytics, payment processing, customer support, and email delivery partners who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DoDraft, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — if DoDraft is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections described in this policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Account and license data is kept for the lifetime of your account; analytics and log data is typically retained for up to 24 months. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 8).
7. Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and vendor due-diligence. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information you transmit to us.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access to a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction of or objection to certain processing activities.
- Data portability, where technically feasible.
- Withdrawal of consent at any time, where consent was relied upon.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at dodraft@dodlab.kr. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
9. International Data Transfers
DoDraft is based in the Republic of Korea, and our service providers may be located in other countries. When we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections required by applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 14 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete the information promptly.
11. Third-Party Services
Our Services may link to, or integrate with, third-party services (for example, the App Store, payment processors, or analytics providers). Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as via the website or email). Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
